Theo> 每个版本我们都会给“Puffy”（我们的吉祥物）设定一个不同的主题情景，这主要基于我们所发现的正被自由/开放源代码社区面对（或者忽略）的问题。大部分此类问题都是关于自由在什么什么地方被一些商家，或者有时更为伤心的是，被一些伪善的开源项目所侵害的事实。
我们总是试图寻找一些众所熟知的故事，以便能用隐寓的手法把它和我们感觉正在面对的情景关联起来。
从3.0之后，我们还幸运地得到了一些本土海藻音乐家Ty Semaka（以及他的一伙朋友）的帮助，他们为每个故事都配上了音乐。读者们可以访问 http://www.openbsd.org/lyrics.html，去看看和每个版本对应的的卡通图片和歌曲。但更为重要的是，在左边一列上说明了所选主题的原因，以及我们感觉社区需要意识到和面对的问题。
CDS> 你能不能解释一下为什么使用“Puffy”来作为这个OS的形象？
Theo> 早期我们用的是一个头部带有光环的daemon。但是，那个时候FreeBSD已经开始使用daemon形象，并且取得了相当大的成功（这在很大程度上归功于 Walnut Creek的远见），因此，我们感觉尝试一下使用其它图片来表达我们自己也未尝不可。
Niels Provos和David Mazieres曾经为我们的passwd文件创建了超棒的“bcrypt”算法，它的强大肇始于河豚算法的一个缺陷（那个缺陷是该算法有一个开销超大的密钥调度设置功能）。在那个时候，对基于美国的项目而言，发布优秀的加密技术是个非常大的问题（这个问题至今仍然存在，因为出口加密技术在美国被认为是非法的，但现在是否忽略这个问题仅仅取决于联邦的政策）。
我认识的一个画家为我画了第一个河豚（在一个不干胶上面），瞧，我们都非常喜欢它，所以决定就用它来代表我们的项目。
CDS> 你对NetBSD和FreeBSD的新logo有何看法？
Theo> 我很想知道他们怎么对此一点声明都没有。
CDS> 你对DragonFly BSD有何看法？
Theo> 除了Dillon之外，它看起来只是一个非常小的开发团队。我偶尔会登录到他们的代码树中，看看有没有什么OpenBSD可以用的东西，但迄今为止我还没有发现任何东西。几乎所有的东西都依赖于Dillon的工作内容，但这些内容实际上并不是可以分离出来的。
而且，最困难的是，它的绝大部分内容将会和我们的多平台支持发生强烈抵触。（我们得需要一大堆开发人员来完成这项工作）。
CDS> 你能不能给我一些关于即将发布的3.9版本的小道消息呢？

CDS> 在未来的版本中都计划了哪些新东西？比如主版本4.0。
Theo> 我在谈到我们的项目的时候经常说，我们相信的是演化而非革命。非常坦率地说，我也不知道我们究竟会做到什么样的程度。比如我们有一个目标，但我们认识到并没有到发布它的时机。于是，我们可以先把代码放进去，但先关闭它。有些东西会在准备好了之后被打开，而不是在这之前。因此，到底在计划什么并不重要。
这也可以归结为我们成功的原因，因为有些东西甚至可以在发布前几周内被关掉。
CDS> “The Complete FreeBSD”已经出版十周年了，现在它已经变得相当流行，你有没有打算也给OpenBSD写一本类似的东西？
Theo> 哦，我看我并不适合做那样的作者。尤其是写一些仅仅是系统管理员书籍的东西。那恰好是我无法做的事情。我对这个没什么兴趣。
CDS> OpenBSD所致力的目标是服务器，但有相当数量的用户更喜欢把它作为桌面环境。在你刚开始开发OBSD的时候，你有没有想到过会发生这种情况？
Theo> 我并不认为一台服务器和一台非服务器机器之间有什么区别。如果确实是有差别，我的意思是说，如果我们对于桌面机器的安全保护要弱一些，那我们的麻烦就大了。我们必须更加努力才行。
CDS> 维护项目生存的日常开支都有哪些，以便我们强调用户对项目的捐助有多么重要。
Theo> 电费帐单每个星期是$100 USD。我们偶尔还会有一些硬件替换开销，不过对此做出评断是很困难的。大家最应该了解的事实是，如果我们不改善条件的话，我们的开发团队就不会增长了。
大型hackathons（每年一次）的花销至少是$20,000 USD，但我更希望每年有另外的$5,000来让更多的贫穷的开发人员可以飞到Calgary。小型hackathons的花销大概是$8,000，同样，我也希望能有一些人员的旅费资金。明年我们希望能够召开3次mini-hackathons。这非常令人兴奋——比如，其中的一次将把所有开发 IPSEC的人员聚集在一起，共一个星期的时间。请想象将会发生什么！
我同时还需要一份最低限度的薪水，因为我的全职工作就是协调开发者们（以及制作版本）。最后，我还得存点钱以备不时之需，比如地下室里的机房进了水或者发生了其它的什么事情，
CDS> Theo，你和项目为什么不去创建用于下载的ISO？
你是不是觉得这样做会减少项目的一些资金收入？
Theo> 是的，这显然会大量减少我们的资金收入。这恐怕是一个项目所能做的最愚蠢的事情。缺少ISO映象并没有减缓我们的成长。
CDS> 在早些年中可以在IRC上找到你，你是否还在参与，如果是的话，用户该如何找到你？
Theo> 不。我没有任何理由去当一个整天被缠着的用户，而IRC就是这么个东西。原来我之所以在IRC上面是因为那是OpenBSD的成长初期，我得用这个东西来跟我所认识的安全审核人员们交流。
CDS> Theo，开个玩笑，如果你必须使用Linux，你会选择哪个发行版呢？当然，你可以不做任何解释。
Theo> 哦，我从来没有，也永远不会去用它。
CDS> 最后，Theo，现在给你一个机会跟所有的用户和潜在用户说两句话；关于你和项目，你还想让BSD社区了解哪些他们还不知道的东西？
Theo> 没什么东西。

昨天做了一个梦，突然就知道看手了，发现手一直在变，就知道自己在做梦。知道后就开始随便咯，手上变一个苹果，没变成形就扔掉了。后来又跟一个大块头打架也不怕。。。好像还验证了一次，看一张纸上的句子，再一看内容就变了就知道在做梦。
几个月前上一个关于Lucid dream的网站，上面的方法比较复杂，不过一个回帖的家伙说看看手就可以了，睡觉前仔细看看，梦里发现不对劲再看看，想想是啊，多简单。简单是简单，可做梦的时候谁记得啊。没想到过了几个月才在梦里想起来用这个方法竟然奏效（废话，不奏效说明不是在做梦，或者BT）。
中文有站点称Lucid dream是灵魂离体，玄了吧，其实就是做梦的时候知道自己在做梦，然后最好能控制梦境，就不错了。
